The National Wheelchair Softball Association (NWSA) is very pleased and excited to have assembled this outstanding team of accomplished players to represent the United States and compete in the 2019 Wheelchair Softball World Series in Kansas City, Kansas and the 2019 Japanese National Wheelchair Softball Championships in Tokyo, Japan. This is only the fourth United States wheelchair softball team in NWSA’s 43-year history to compete in a foreign country.
The 2019 Team USA represents many of today’s most outstanding and accomplished players in wheelchair softball. The team and staff includes three members of NWSA’s Hall of Fame, player’s with twelve awards for Most Valuable Players of the Wheelchair Softball World Series(WSWS), and many all-tournament awards at the WSWS. The team will be coached and managed by Keith Wallace of the LWSRA Hawks. Sue Dineen, of LWSRA Hawks, will accompany the team as a staff member and Tom Pugil, NWSA and ASA umpire, will travel with the team to officiate and train umpires.
